Adam Barber is a composer and producer living in Los Angeles. The scope of his work includes film music, concert works and collaborative efforts with Indie bands. A graduate of Arizona State University and University of California, Los Angeles music programs, Adam has been involved with music his whole life. While attending undergrad at A.S.U., he began collaborating with filmmakers from Scottsdale, learning about film’s production process from script-to-screen and music’s role in that process. Since then, his fascination with music in film and its production have evolved into a career. He’s worked alongside film music’s biggest names and along side some of the greatest musicians and personalities in the film music community. His project affiliations have taken him to Prague, Jakarta, Bucharest, Rome and London. In addition to film scoring, he enjoys writing concert works, producing ensembles and working with singer songwriters. Constantly fascinated with the convergence of music and technology, he consults and provides project management for small and large studio projects, film and television projects, private recording sessions and studio technology management.
Potager, French for “kitchen garden”, is where Adam derives the name for his production company, Urban Potager Music. In addition to creating music, when he’s not cooking and sharing his bountiful backyard garden with fellow musicians during projects, Adam shares the overflow from the garden with a restaurant, Forage, in Silverlake, near Sunset Junction in Los Angeles. It’s a wonderful restaurant with a local grown, farm-to-table sensibility.
